MISSION

The Galena Police Department is dedicated to the protection and security of all citizens and, in partnership with the community, to providing quality public safety services while affording dignity and respect to every individual.

VISION

The Galena Police Department will be a totally integrated Community Oriented Policing Agency committed to a partnership with our citizens. All members of the department will strive for high performance and continuous growth in a value driven organization.

PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT

  • Office Hours (Mon - Fri)  8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • The Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Department answers phone calls for the Galena Police Department after hours, on weekends and on holidays
  • The Galena Police Department consists of a Police Chief, two Lieutenants, one Investigator, six fulltime Officers, one Clerk/Dispatcher and two Community Service Officers / Parking Control Officers
