The Galena History Symposium will be held in Galena at the DeSoto House Hotel on May 15-17, 2026. Professional, avocational, and student historians, archeologists, and preservationists will present papers, panels, films, and performances about the history of Galena.

REMINDER: Used batteries and CFL bulbs (not long tubes) are always accepted--at no charge--at City Hall. We no longer collect small household electronics at the former wastewater treatment plant site. You are welcome to recycle small electronics at no charge during our recycling collection.
