Bike Trail & Gateway Closed / Deer Hunting Season

For the safety of all, the Galena River Trail and Galena Gateway Park will be closed during the upcoming deer and turkey firearm hunting seasons. Trails are not closed during archery seasons. Dates are listed below.

• Oct. 7-9, 2023 – Youth firearm
• Oct. 21-29, 2023 – Turkey season / firearm
• Nov. 17-19, 2023 – Deer season / firearm
• Nov. 30-Dec. 3, 2023 – Deer season / firearm
• Dec. 8-10, 2023 – Deer season / muzzleloader only
• Dec. 28-31, 2023 – Deer season / late winter antlerless only and special CWD
• Jan. 12-14, 2024 – Deer season / late winter antlerless only and special CWD

Signage announcing the closures has been posted at the entrance on the trail and at Gateway Park. During the closures, additional signage will be posted.
