Public Works Laborer
Applications are now being accepted by the City of Galena for the full-time position of Public Works Laborer. The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of the Public Works Director and be responsible for operating the street sweeper and a variety of tasks related to grounds maintenance, snow removal, and streets, equipment and public building maintenance. The starting wage for the position is $18.70 per hour plus benefits.
The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen, possess a valid driver’s license, possess or be able to obtain a CDL driver’s license within 60 days of employment, be able to operate a street sweeper, truck with snowplow, and operate other equipment and tools. Construction, mechanical, electrical, and welding experience desired.
