Food and Beverage Tax
Food and beverage tax is collected from City of Galena businesses on sales of food and beverages prepared for immediate consumption. The 1% tax is payable by the consumer purchasing the food and/or beverage. The year-to-date hotel tax reports with comparisons to the prior year are available below.
Food and Beverage Tax is payable by the business to the city not later than the last day of the month following the month of the tax collection by business. The Food and Beverage Tax collections listed in the report are for the most recent complete month of tax collection by the city.
