On May 13, the Galena City Council voted to accept a proposal from citizens to construct a pickleball complex in Recreation Park. The complex includes eight courts, two of which would be fully accessible to persons with disabilities. The city council agreed to fund up to $150,000 of the total estimated cost of $327,500. Construction of the complex is subject to final engineering, bidding, and fundraising.
