A section of the Galena River Trail will be closed on Monday morning, August 26, for maintenance. The shared roadway section from the Belvedere Mansion to the start of the dedicated trail at the 1.20 mile mark will be closed while a new sealcoat surface is applied. The work is expected to be completed by noon on Monday. The newly improved section will open immediately after the completion of the work. The trail will be open at all times from the Aiken trailhead north to the section under maintenance.
When the new surface is applied, the shared roadway surface will have loose rock for days and possibly weeks. Trail users should be prepared for the loose rocks and use extra caution when travelling on this section.
