Amusement tax is collected from City of Galena businesses on gross sales of tickets for amusement activities such as trolley tours and concerts. The tax is payable by the consumer purchasing the ticket. Tax revenue supports general government operations of the City. Amusement Tax is payable by the amusement business to the city not later than the last day of the month following the month of the tax collection by the amusement. The Amusement Tax collections listed in the report are for the most recent complete month of tax collection by the city.
