The pickleball complex is now open for the 2026 season.
The new pickleball complex at Recreation Park opened in September 2025. The complex includes eight courts, two of which are fully accessible to persons with disabilities.
Pickleball Court Rules:
- Courts open daily 7 a.m.-dusk (closed during winter).
- Use pickleball courts at your own risk.
- Courts are for pickleball only.
- Proper non-marking footwear required.
- No bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, scooters, or other wheeled equipment.
- No pets or outdoor chairs.
- No food, glass or beverages other than water.
- No paid athletic services are permitted without prior approval.
Pickleball Court Structure of Play:
- Courts are open to the public for drop-in play on a first-come, first-served basis during all hours except during events approved by the City of Galena.
- Respect other players.
- If other players are waiting, please leave the court after your game (one game to 11, win by 2) so others may play. The next paddles lined up along the fence are then called to the open court.
- The goal is to ensure a positive experience for everyone who plays. Players are asked to be courteous and demonstrate positive sportsmanship.
