The Galena Police Department offers multiple specialty positions such as K9 officers, narcotics, Critical Incident Response Team, major case investigations, Alice (active shooter) and others. Galena Police officers utilize the newest technology with Axon body worn cameras, state-of-the-art Axon interview rooms, and a Polaris Ranger.
Individuals with up to seven years' experience are eligible for wages starting at $30.72 per hour. 100% single coverage for health, dental, life, and disability insurance.
Must reside within 25 miles of the city limits, including Iowa and Wisconsin, 14 paid holidays, $600 clothing allowance per year, $1,500 sign on bonus, and overtime and special event detail opportunities.
