The Galena River Trail is closed near Aiken for emergency repairs. There is no through access.

The City of Galena’s Fourth of July parade will take place on Saturday, July 4, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Main Street.

Entry forms for those wishing to enter a float, band, vehicle or walking group in the city-sponsored parade are available at cityofgalena.org or at Galena City Hall, 101 Green St. There is no fee to participate. Parade line-up begins at 4:30 p.m. on Commerce Street behind the DeSoto House.

The City of Galena will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new pickleball courts at Recreation Park on Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m. 

The City of Galena open burn is scheduled for Thursday, May 7-Sunday, May 10.

The City of Galena will offer free yard waste pickup for city residents each Tuesday in May: May 5, May 12, May 19 and May 26. 

Pool season is almost here! Swimming lesson registration and season pass sales will go live at cityofgalena.org on Friday, May 1 at 10 a.m. 

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced recently that weather permitting, construction on the bridge carrying U.S. 20/Illinois 84 across the Galena River will begin Monday, May 4.

The City of Galena will host the Pickleball Complex Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting at Recreation Park on Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
